Lima, is a small town on the banks of the Red Rock River. Settlers originally named the area Allerdice. The area experienced growth during the gold fever years of the late 1800s and soon it became a stop for the Utah and Northern Railroad. One of the leading members of the community changed the name to Lima in honor of his hometown in Wisconsin.

Currently there are just over 200 residents living in the city limits. The K-12 public school is housed in one building creating a tight bond between younger and older students.
